Elizabeth Violet Frances Williams was born on June 13, 1928 to Frances Maude Maxwell and Arthur Luis Williams at 159 Brixton Hill, Subdistrict of Norwood, Lambeth in London, England.  As a young girl, she attended school at an area convent, participated in dance at MAVDOR School of Dance, helped out at her aunt's flower shop, and enjoyed spending time at the seaside in Margate Kent and Weston-Super-Mare.  She married Frederick R. Newby in 1948 and raised their children in New Malden, Surrey, England.   Elizabeth came to the United States of America with her children on the Queen Mary in 1962 to join her parents and siblings. In 1966, she met and married Marcelino H. Pantoja in Sioux City, Iowa.

Elizabeth and her family lived in Fort Worth, Texas from 1967-1978.  While in Fort Worth, she worked at the Magic Lounge.  In 1978, she returned to Sioux City.  She worked for many years in retail and managing the Karousel Restaurant in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

After all her years in the U.S., she never lost her accent and was very proud of her British heritage.  She was often called, "The Queen" or "Queen Mum."  She was a go-getter and always ready to go for a ride or out-on-the-town.  She lived life to the fullest.  She was a strong and independent lady living in her own home until the last two weeks. She loved the movies and music.  She was a fan of Frank Sinatra and the big bands.  Some of her best times were in Fort Worth during the '70s where she enjoyed dancing in the disco era.  Later, she enjoyed spending time with her family, going out to dinner, spending the day shopping and dining in Omaha, and watching her son play drums with his band.

She is survived by her siblings:  Phil Williams of Sioux City, Patricia (Dr. Philip) Dyer of Carmel, Indiana, and Jaqueline Williams of Sioux Falls; her children: Tony Newby, Linda (Marv) Diamond, Philip Newby, Susan Prince, Michelle Newby, Kevin (Sonja) Newby, Mark Newby (Michelle Barnes), Frances Wetzbarger-Buckmeier (Brian), Patricia Christian, Chantel Pantoja, and Andrew Newby; her grandchildren: Paige Newby, Brian Wilde, Keith Wilde, Joey Crum, Andrea McClure, Quentin Jetton, Brittany Kempers, Brandon Newby, Lucinda Priscilla Flores, Christopher Flores, Breanna Newby, Collin Newby, Courtney Carman, Dominic Wetzbarger, Chloe Wetzbarger, Christopher Christian, Bianca Pantoja, Christian Cisneros, Mercedes Cisneros, Yesenia Cisneros, and many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, John Green; Frederick and Marcelino; her sisters, Violet Golliday, Marie Courchaine, and Frances Williams; and two daughters, Elizabeth Newby and Maria Harding.
