Elsie R. Plantz-Jester

Elsie R. Plantz Jester, 103, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at a local care center.

Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, December 13, 2024, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Pastor Kevin Miller officiating. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery.

Elsie was born on May 30, 1921, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Walter and Cora (Longworth) Welch. Elsie worked in retail with Younkers for a number of years and was a Senior Companion for many years. She was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church. Elsie enjoyed traveling, reading, and all types of puzzles. 

Survivors include her daughter: Charlotte Curry; son-in-law Jim Lorimor; grandchildren: Cynthia Thomas, Michael (Karen) Curry, Jeffrey (Pam) Curry, Patrick Curry, and April (Ace) Brown, and Grady Redding, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse John Plantz Sr. in 1958. Son John Edward Plantz Jr., daughter June Redding Lorimor, son-in-law Donald Curry, and grandsons Douglas and Raymond Redding.
