Emogene "Em" Peters

Emogene “Em” Peters. 71, of Homer, NE, passed away surrounded by her family on July 7, 2021 at her residence.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 10 at 1:00 P.M. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Taylor Cemetery at a later date.  The service will be live streamed at https://youtu.be/VV4rvg6sXUM and online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Emogene was born on September 10, 1949 in Laurel, NE to Bernhard and Emeline (Kuhl) Bock.  She grew up in South Sioux city, NE and graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1967.  She was united in marriage to Wilbur Peters on July 16, 1988.  Together they moved to Hastings in 1994 and then to Homer in 2007.  Emogene worked as a cook in various nursing homes throughout the area, retiring from Good Samaritan Village in Hastings.  She enjoyed gardening, growing plants and flowers, sitting outside feeding the birds and squirrels, cooking, bowling, drinking coffee, listening and dancing to country music, and playing good pranks on her friends and family.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband Wilbur Peters, Homer, NE; daughter, Robin (Corey Pierce) Frost, Homer, NE; step-children: Shane Polly, Holt, MO, Willie (Tracy) Peters, Homer, NE, Cameron (Felicia) Polly, Homer, NE, Wendy (Dennis) Johnson, Kearney, MO; brother; Franklin Bock, Mounds, MN; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son Scott Frost and several brothers and sisters.
