Erich was born May 17, 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Milton and Frances (Schmabel) Geisler. In 1974, he enlisted in the United States Army and served for 3 years towards the end of the Vietnam War. He served in telecommunications where he was tasked with setting up stations for communication between units and resolving issues. He attended the University of Houston and received certifications in 1983 from the Dale Carnegie Course and in 1998 in Consulting. Throughout his life, he traveled the world, living and working in many different places. He lived in Houston, TX where he worked for Compaq. He then moved to Austin, TX where he worked for Dell and also began his own company, Geisler Consulting. Erich attended Sunnybrook Community Church. He enjoyed classic rock music, Miller Lite (bottle only!), everything and anything to do with computers, and barbequing. He was a handyman, frequently helping friends with repairs and briefly had a repair business.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife Kathy Geisler, of Sioux City; daughter Colleen (Brett) Cotellesse and their daughter, Isabella, of Kingwood, TX; step-son John (Carrie) Taylor and their son, Max, of Mesa, AZ; sisters Sheila Dyer of Sebastian, FL and Val (Kenny) Guiden of Pittsburgh, PA; niece Amanda Dyer of Tallahassee, FL; nephew Matthew Dyer of Nashville, TN; and his brother from another mother Brad (Holly) Meier of Tyler, TX.

Memorial donations can be directed to Wounded Warrior Project or Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue.

Erich is enjoying his patio parties in Heaven now, sipping on a cold bottled Miller Lite.
