Farris J. Conrad, 84, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Touchstone Healthcare Community in Sioux City, IA.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Liz Tucker officiating. Visitation with the family present will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ponca Cemetery in Ponca, NE.Farris was born on June 19, 1931 in Wahoo, NE, the daughter of Samuel and Carrie (Benson) Hageman. She grew up in Ponca and graduated from Ponca High School in 1949. Farris married Clayton Conrad on January 1, 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Ponca. The couple moved to Sioux City, IA, where they raised four sons. She was a homemaker and also worked at Zenith, Aalfs, Swifts, and as a cook at Apple Tree Preschool. Clayton passed away in 2002.Farris was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Sioux City. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She also had a passion for cooking, baking and cleaning, and enjoyed square dancing, gardening and embroidery work. There was always food on the table at her home.Survivors include her sons, Doug (Jacque) Conrad of Sioux City, IA, Randy (Sharon) Conrad of Clear Lake, IA, Ricky (Diane) Conrad of Sioux City, IA and David (Lisa) Conrad of Elmwood, NE; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dick (Ellen) Hageman of Phoenix, AZ; brother-in-law, Leon (Jenny) Conrad of Ponca, NE; sister-in-law, Leona Conrad of Ponca, NE; and many nieces and nephews.Farris was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Conrad; her parents, Samuel and Carrie Hageman; 1 sister, Pearl; and 2 brothers, Leonard and Phillip.Farris' family would like to thank Touchstone Healthcare Community and Hospice of Siouxland for their tender loving care and support.
