Florence was born on August 7th, 1931 in Randolph NE to Margaret and Frank Grothe.

On November 27th, 1954 she married Duane Ibsgaard to whom she had three children. In 1974 they moved to Sibley, Iowa. She worked as a caregiver to numerous families that she grew a close bond with over the years. Until her passing she still kept in touch with those children she babysat years ago.  In 1998 when her husband Duane retired, they moved to Casa Grande, Arizona until moving back to Mapleton, Iowa in 2012 to be closer to family.

Florence loved jewelry. Anyone who knew her could tell you she had multiple bracelets and multiple rings on every finger. To top it off she always had a set of beaded holiday earrings for every occasion! She loved rides on the motorcycle. Her and Duane would take long motorcycle trips around the US which is how they ended up in Casa Grande, Arizona. Florence took pride in making personalized quilts for every grandchild and great grandchild when they were born. She put a lot of love and thought into each one. One of her all-time favorite places was the dollar tree, she got so much enjoyment out of her shopping trips there. Florence loved getting together with family and friends. When you would ask her where she wanted to go or what she wanted to eat the answer was always The Golden Corral.

Florence is survived by her son, Timothy Ibsgaard and his wife Julie of Midwest City, Oklahoma: her daughter Sherry Hegg of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, Stacie (Todd) Anderson of Sioux City, Iowa, Stephanie (Bill) Vaul of Sioux City, Iowa, Joshua (Amanda) Menin of Sioux City, Iowa, Justin (Debbie) Hegg of Omaha, Nebraska, Amanda (Nick) Jeanetta of Bellevue, Nebraska, David (Hillary) Bradshaw of Harrah, Oklahoma, and Jimmy (Jamie) Bradshaw of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother, her husband Duane Ibsgaard, her eldest daughter Michelle Menin, daughter in law Holly Ibsgaard, son in law James Hegg, and great grandson Miles Vaul.

In lieu of flowers or cards, donations can be made to Queen of Peace in Sioux City, Iowa.
