Floyd L. Bowman, 78, of South Sioux City, NE was reunited with Annette, the love of his life at the gates of heaven, surrounded by close family and friends at a Sioux City hospital on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, following a brief illness.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Mohr Funeral Home, 1431 W. 29th Street, South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Michael Ring officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery in Dakota City, NE. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, July 26, 2013, with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. He attended school in Decatur, NE. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Floyd married his soul mate, Annette Davis on September 19, 1959 in South Sioux City, NE. He worked construction as a mason and drove a school bus for the South Sioux City Schools for many years. He was also a musician in the country western band, "Floyd Bowman and His Oklahoma Wranglers" for many years.He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. He was an avid Husker fan, a true Democrat, enjoyed attending the Atokad horse races and loved country music. Floyd never met a stranger, and touched more lives than anyone will ever know.Survivors include his children, Cindy Hoffman and Hank Trudell, Machelle and Ken Dass, Terri and James Linafelter, Floyd Bowman Jr., Jason and Erica Bowman and Lise Pedersen; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Lavonne and Gordon Froid, Phyllis and James Schrader, Richard Bowman, Eileen and Jerry Barratt, Patti and Terry McManigal; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends.Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Goldie Bowman; his wife, Annette Bowman in 2003; and his brother and best friend, Robert Bowman.
