Frank L. Hinkle, 83, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City, NE.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE, with military rites by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Burial will be in Hill-Crest Cemetery in Decatur, NE. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, December 28, 2015, with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.Frank was born on April 26, 1932 in Macy, NE, the son of Glenn and Lida (Abell) Hinkle. He graduated from Macy High School and attended Wayne State College for one year. He entered the U.S. Army on January 22, 1953 during the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged on December 17, 1954. Frank married Mary Jump on August 11, 1956. The couple moved to South Sioux City, NE. He worked at Miller's Body Shop, Wilson Concrete, Novelty Machine and Supply and Sieg Company before the couple went into the motel management business, managing motels in Grand Forks, ND and Williamsburg, IA. They then spent time in South Sioux City in the summers and Arizona in the winters before moving back to South Sioux City eight years ago.Frank was very active at Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, serving in many capacities. He was also active in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church while living in Arizona. He enjoyed camping, tinkering, building things with his hands, playing cards, and he was quite a jokester. He loved life.Survivors include his children, Dawn (Rick) Bousquet of South Sioux City, NE and Kenneth (Anne) Hinkle of Towanda, KS; grandchildren, Ryan (Amanda) Bousquet, Stephanie (Matt) Ott, Tyler (Kayla) Bousquet, all of South Sioux City, NE, Kristopher Bousquet of Lincoln, NE, Alex and Lizzie Clemens of Benton, KS; great grandchildren, Kyia Ott, Jaedyn, Jemma, Julianne, Jameson, Lucas, Lillian and Leah Bousquet and Pierce Clemens; two sisters, Mary (Everett) Calkins of Marengo, IA and Karen Castor of South Sioux City, NE; and several nieces and nephews.Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Lida Hinkle; his wife, Mary Hinkle on June 15, 2013; and one granddaughter, Nicole Bousquet.
