Gary L. Allen, 56, of Dakota City, NE passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home.Services will be held at 4:30 P.M. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Burial will be in the Ponca Cemetery in Ponca, NE. Visitation will begin at 3:30 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.Gary was born July 10, 1961 in Boone, IA, the son of Norma (Bergerson) Allen Parker. He attended school in Riverside and West High. He married Paula Timblin in 1989 and raised 3 stepsons, Andy, Allan and Austin as his own. Gary was employed at Tyson for 19 years.Gary was an avid pool and dart competitor, in which he played on many leagues, earning many trophies. He loved to draw and collected vintage model cars and coins. In the past years he loved playing golf with his friends.Gary is survived by his 3 stepsons, Andy of Sioux City, Allan of Dakota City and Austin (Janice) of Georgia; a daughter, Randi (Greg) Tenhagen of Idaho; 7 grandchildren; sister, Becky (Larry) Wolf of Alta, IA; brother, Steve (Cindy) Armstrong of Ames, IA; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Parker; father, Edward Allen; grandparents Maude and Nate Odle; and a nephew, Doug Watchorn.
