Gary Lee Dunning, 71, of Sergeant Bluff, IA, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at a local care facility.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 7, 2021 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Inurnment will be at Graceland Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Gary was born August 8, 1949 in Sioux City, the son of Larry and Pearl (Tate) Dunning. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Central High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He came back to the United States and started his family. He worked at Chesterman’s as a delivery driver for a few years. He then worked at Stone Container for many years until his retirement. Post retirement, he delivered for Meals on Wheels. He was married to Jacqueline Hach. She preceded him in death in 2012.

Gary enjoyed golfing, playing pool, bowling, and most of all, music. He was a member of the “Black Windows,” a motorcycle club with his co-workers.

Those left to honor his memory are his children Chad Dunning and Sarah Dunning, both of Sioux City; brother Don (Judy) Dunning of Sergeant Bluff; sister Linda (Don) Hansen of Coleridge, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
