Gary L. Trapp

Gary L. Trapp, 73, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021.  Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  

Gary was born the son of Ralph and Lucille (Beldin) Trapp on March 4, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa.  He graduated from Heelan High School and then Western Iowa Tech.  He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Gary married Cheryl (Haire) Trapp on February 26, 1971. 

He worked for American Popcorn Company for 30 years until his retirement. 

Gary enjoyed going to car shows and traveling with his wife.  He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He could often be found watching sports, particularly the Iowa Hawkeyes.  For several years he had fun floating the Missouri with his buddies in the River Raft Regatta.

Gary is survived by his wife, Cheryl Trapp of Sioux City; children, Amy (Eliciel) Davila of Los Angeles and Michael (Kris) Trapp of Sioux City; grandchildren, Jordan, Derek, Lauryn, and Nathan Trapp and Ryan and Gabriela Davila; and sister, Doreen (Charles) Schoonover of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Jeffrey Berger.
