George L. Kinsey, 68, of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, following a long battle with cancer.A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, Nebraska with Pastor Roger Madden officiating. Visitation with the family present will begin 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Online condolences may be sent at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.George was born on July 28, 1941 in Dayton, Iowa to Kenneth and Ruby (Waters) Kinsey. He grew up in Dayton and graduated from Dayton High School. He entered the Army, serving from 1959 to 1961, when he was honorably discharged. He drove a U.S. mail truck for Fort Dodge for several years. He married Lynne Walters on December 13, 1976 in Sioux Falls, S.D. They settled in South Sioux City where he worked for Broyhill's in Dakota City for 11 years, before becoming an over the road truck driver. George retired in 2007.He loved fishing, gardening, shooting his gun, camping, and watching the planes at Martin Air Field in South Sioux City. He also loved spending time with family and friends.Survivors include his wife, Lynne Kinsey of South Sioux City, NE; sons, Mike (Misti) Kinsey of Wyoming, George Kinsey, Jr. of Dakota City, NE and Dustin Kinsey of South Sioux City, NE; daughter, Melissa Kinsey of Fort Dodge, IA; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Darrell (Janet) Kinsey of Dayton, IA; and several nieces and nephews.George was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Mark Kinsey; 1 brother, Bruce Kinsey; and 1 sister, Kathern Danielson.
