George Baum Murdock, 95, of Sioux City, Iowa died Friday, November 26, 2021 at Mercy One Hospital after a short illness.
George was born on December 29, 1925 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Harold Murdock and Margery Baum. George loved school and excelled in his studies. He joined the United States Air Force in February of 1943. He was honorably discharged in 1945 as a Private First Class. George was quite the entrepreneur in business and worked various jobs to which he found success.
He moved to Savannah, Georgia and married Anne McGlohon in 1988. George was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Scottish Heritage Society and the Scottish American Military Society. He participated in the Scottish Games held yearly in Savannah and traveled to join in games across the southeast. He and Anne relocated to Sioux City, Iowa in 2005. He attended Good News Bible Church. He was an avid reader.
He was survived by his step-son, Mark McGlohon (Jane) of Sioux City, Iowa. Step-daughter, Debbie Wells (Bobby) of Savannah, Georgia. Grandchildren: Lara Busby of Costa Rica, Mark Busby of Savannah, Georgia, Matthew and Michaela McGlohon of Sioux City, Iowa. Great-grandchildren: Indiana, Ricky, Lucy, Micah, Miles, Collin and Daniel.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Joe Murdock, and his wife, Anne McGlohon Murdock.
