George Lee Trudell, 68, of Sioux City passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at a local care facility due to liver failure. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Tyler Sanchez will officiate. George was born on September 1, 1950 in Winnebago, Nebraska, to Henry and Lois (Rouillard) Trudell. He spent years living in Sioux City, Lake Havasu, AZ, and Iowa City, IA throughout his life. He was proudly licensed as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Nebraska.
In his spare time, George loved tennis, playing Scrabble, and playing other board games with his grandchildren.
George is survived by his son, Eugene Sanchez of Iowa City, IA; daughter, Yolanda Sanchez of Iowa City, IA; 7 grandchildren; and 8 siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Mike, Sal, Steve, and Larry Trudell; and a sister, Teresa Trudell.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Sanchez, Ruben Sanchez, Jahil Trudell, Jesse Trudell, Mike Trudell, Quenton Trudell, Ricky Castillo, and Carlos Castillo.
Honorary pallbearers will be Antonio Sanchez, Tomas Sanchez, Elleana Sanchez, Jaya Sanchez, Andres Sanchez, Lance Sanchez, and Sofia Sanchez.
