Geraldine "Gerry" Klas

Geraldine “Gerry” Klas died on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, at the age of 106. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Gerry was born to parents Mack and Nellie Cornett in Tilden, NE, on November 17, 1915.  She married Bill Klas on August 29, 1940. Bill passed away on March 14, 1995.

She was an active member of the Crescent Park United Methodist Church for many years. She and Bill participated in numerous volunteer activities including making peanut brittle as a church fundraiser and delivering Meals on Wheels. Gerry enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, and gardening throughout her life and made many friends along the way.

Her survivors include many loving nieces and nephews. Also, the family would like to acknowledge Bob and Geri Morfitt of Sioux City who were both special friends and caretakers for many years.

Gerry was preceded in death by her husband Bill, parents, five sisters, and two brothers.
