Gina Zuchero Birmingham, 64, passed away on May 15, 2021 at home in Sioux City, Iowa after a short battle with cancer. Gina was born on February 4, 1957 in Lynn, Massachusetts to William and Patricia (Glass) Zuchero. In Iowa, a celebration of her life will be held Monday, May 24 at 4:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Another celebration will be held at St. Johns in Swampscott, MA at a later date.
Gina grew up in Swampscott, MA and attended both St. John’s school and Swampscott High School where she graduated in 1975. Fulfilling a college language requirement, she spent her last semester at Salem State College living in France. Gina was adventurous, and upon graduation from college she worked in Marblehead, MA before moving to California where she met her husband, Kevin. Gina and Kevin were married in Westminster, England and lived in Silver Lakes and Hesperia, California for 30 years.
Gina loved to travel with her favorite places being Japan and Sicily. After raising her family, she worked as an elementary school teacher in Oro Grande School District before moving to Sioux City Iowa in 2014.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband Kevin Birmingham, Sioux City, IA; children: twins, Natasia Brown, serving in the US Navy, Cody Brown, of Alaska, Dakota Brown, of Arizona. Additionally, she leaves her mother Patricia Zuchero, of Swampscott, MA; brothers: Steven Zuchero and wife Eileen, of Marblehead, MA, Paul Zuchero, of Swampscott, MA, niece Bryanna Snow Pesco and husband Chris, Aunt Audrey Glass Williams and husband Bob of Alton Bay, NH, Uncle Sandy Glass, of Georgetown, MA along with several cousins and friends; including her lifelong friend Harryette Katzen, of Salem, MA.
She is predeceased by her father William Zuchero of Swampscott, MA, her sister Nancy Zuchero Snow of Lynn, MA and her nephew Eric Snow of Salem, MA.
