Glenn A. Krueger

February 9, 1941 — November 1, 2022

Glenn A. Krueger, 81, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City with Pastor Jeff Swanson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Glenn, the son of Albert and Elfrieda (Mundt) Krueger, was born February 9, 1941 at the family farm near Anthon, IA. He grew up on the farm and graduated from Climbing Hill High School. He furthered his education by attending tech school in Kansas City and later attended WIT to study farm management.

Glenn enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1963 and continued his service through the 185th Tactical Fighter Group until retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1993. In addition to his military career, Glenn was a lifelong farmer.

In 1962, Glenn married Shirley Schwedler and this union was blessed with one daughter, Kristy. Glenn and Shirley divorced in 1976.

In 1979, he was united in marriage to Sharon (Lewis) McCormick and he welcomed her two sons, Chad and Tim, into his life. Glenn and Sharon made their home in Sioux City.

Glenn was a hard worker, could fix anything, enjoyed the outdoors, and was always willing to help others. He spent many hours cutting trees to use in the fireplace and, along with Sharon, taking care of their large garden. He was an avid Sioux City Musketeers Hockey fan and enjoyed watching professional basketball on television. Above all, he cherished his grandchildren and loved watching their sporting events, teaching them about growing a garden, talking to them about tractors, taking them miniature golfing, and taking them to the farm to ride in his equipment.

He is survived by his children: Kristy (Dave) Logue of Colorado Springs, CO, Charles “Chad” (Amy) McCormick of Sioux City, and Timothy (Michelle) McCormick of Sioux City; ten grandchildren: Kasey Quinlain, Nikole McCormick, Brady McCormick, Garenn McCormick, Patison McCormick, Howie McCormick, Tyler Logue, Taylor Logue, Jaylen Taylor, and Jacob Taylor; one brother, Darrel (Darlene) Krueger of Anthon, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Sharon on January 22, 2020.
