Gloria Jean Bligh

Gloria Jean Bligh, 73 of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025 at her home after a long illness. Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home has assisted the family with arrangements.

Gloria was born to Perry and Marie Tompkins, raised in Walthill, Nebraska. She graduated from Walthill High School in 1969. That same year, she married Ronald Frank and they had two beautiful daughters from this union. They later divorced. Gloria moved to South Sioux City in 1971.

In 1994 Gloria married Dennis Bligh and combined a family of her two daughters and Denny’s four sons. Her dedication to her family and friends will forever be cherished. Her children and grandchildren brought her many happy memories to live on.

She was manager at Lazy M Liquor for 25 years. Gloria enjoyed traveling across the U.S. for work and pleasure with her husband, Denny.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Judi Belt.

Gloria is survived by her husband Denny, two daughters Shannon (Ryan) Lias and Deanna (Tony) Haukap, and four stepsons Joe Bligh, Rod (Tiffini) Bligh, David (Judy) Bligh, and Danny (Sarah) Bligh.

Grandchildren were most important to her. They include Cole Lias, Mackenzie Haukap, Kobe Haukap, Meah Bligh, Bodey Bligh, Bianca Bligh, Noah Bligh, Iris Bligh, and Jemma Bligh.

Her siblings include Fred Tompkins, Elaine Rasmussen, Bonnie Schmitz, Bill Tompkins, Perry Tompkins Jr. and Jane Kinman. Also left to cherish her memories are many nieces and nephews.
