Grace C. Hansen

Grace C. Hansen, 92, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Jackson, NE passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at The Lighthouse Facility in Omaha.Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca, NE with Rev. Peter Speiser officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, February 10, 2017, with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca.Grace was born on April 12, 1924 in Coleridge, NE, the daughter of Samuel and Caroline (Thain) Albrecht. The youngest of five children, she grew up in the Jackson, NE area and was home schooled. Grace married Warren Hansen on February 27, 1947 in Sioux City, IA. The couple farmed in the Westfield, IA area for one year and then moved to the Hubbard/Jackson, NE area in 1948, where Grace and Warren continued to farm until semi-retiring. Warren passed away on September 12, 1997.Grace was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hubbard, NE. She made wedding and special occasion cakes for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, roller skating, sunrises, sunsets, tending her roses and playing the piano. She took very good care of the family farm and their farm home.Survivors include 1 son, Ron Hansen (Donna); 2 daughters, Rhonda Stark (Randy) and Carolyn Johnson (Mike); 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters-in-law, Martha Albrecht and Anna Marie Hansen.She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Hansen; her parents, Samuel and Caroline Albrecht; 2 brothers, Harold Albrecht and Oscar Albrecht; and 2 sisters, Mabel McCann and Viola Waite Smith.
