Harry W. Beatty, 57, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Randall Knuth officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Navy Reserves/South Sioux City American Legion. Visitation with the family present will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.Harry was born in Sioux City, IA on June 26, 1957, the son of Melvin and Irene (Bean) Beatty. He graduated from South Sioux City High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1979. Harry married Teresa Patrick on February 17, 1979 at Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. To this union four sons were born. He worked at various jobs before working as a concrete finisher in the construction business for twenty-eight years.Harry was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. He loved to fish, golf, play online poker and games with his family, and was a diehard Husker and Chiefs fan. He was very family oriented and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Teresa Beatty; sons, Matthew Beatty, Nathan (Kelli) Beatty, Justin Beatty, Zachary Beatty; grandchildren, Mason, Shayanne, Reilly and Izabelle Beatty; his mother, Irene Beatty; sisters and brother, Margaret Beatty, Debra Beatty, Charles (Rovan) Beatty, Betty (Rick) Buchanan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Harry was preceded in death by his father Melvin "Chuck" Beatty.
