Harry C. Kouris

Harry C. Kouris, 98, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday Dec. 3, 2019, after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 A.M., Saturday December 7, 2019 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.  Visitation will be on Friday December 6, 2019 from 4 – 8 pm, with family present from 6-8 pm and a Trisagion service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, 3220 Stone Park Blvd.   Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Harry was born March 12, 1921 in Sioux City; he was the son of Constantine and Archonto Kouris.

He was a lifelong Sioux City resident, graduating from Central High School in 1939 and attended Morningside College.  He enlisted in the US Navy during WWII.  He married Connie Pence on August 15, 1948.  He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Tyrian Lodge 508, Ahepa, Elks Lodge and VFW. He worked for Swift and Co. for 19 years, got his Real Estate Brokerage License, and was the manager of the Benson Bldg, from 1975 – 2002.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Connie; his son Drew Kouris (Mary) of Council Bluffs, IA., his two daughters,  Stacy Eremchuk (Michael) of Blue Ridge, GA., Katie Albers (Brad) of Des Moines, IA., and daughter-in-law Anita Kouris of Sioux City, IA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, George and Pete Kouris.   

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Connie Rolland, and his son, Dean Kouris.
