Helen Waldon

Helen L. Waldon, 83 of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Rev. Catie Newman will officiate. Private family burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Helen was born February 16, 1937 in Sioux City; she was the daughter of Howard and Lucille (Couture) Thompson. Helen grew up in Sioux City and she attended Sioux City Schools.

On February 11, 1961, Helen married Dennis L. Waldon in Elk Point, SD. Dennis passed away on April 4, 2017 in Sioux City.

Helen worked for the Prodenco Dental Lab for 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, playing golf and cribbage. She was known for her potato salad and apple pies.

Survivors include her children: Lynn Waldon (Marion) of Arlington, TX, Troy Waldon (Monica) and Eric Waldon (Kathy) all of Sioux City; 3 grandchildren: Trynn Waldon (Chris Luther), Kelsie Waldon and Alex Waldon; 2 great grandchildren: Lanex and Kessiney Luther; her brother Ted Thompson (Shirley) of Huntsville, AL; her sister: Myra Higgins (Doug) of Creston, IA.

Helen was preceded in death by his parents; her husband Dennis; her sister Florence Pearson and a grandson Benjamin Waldon.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Siouxland and Holy Spirit Retirement Home for the great care that was given to Helen.

Memorials may be directed to the family and will be given to an organization of the family’s choice.
