Herman H. Frese, Jr.

Herman H. Frese, Jr. 79, of South Sioux City passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021.  Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill, Nebraska.  Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Monday, April 12, 2021 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill.  

Herman was born the son of Herman H. Sr. and Johanna (Lubbers) Frese on July 30, 1941 in Walthill, Nebraska.  He graduated from Walthill High School.  Herman married Sandy Bruneau on November 22, 1967.  Together they made a great team.

Herman farmed for several years before owning and operating JC’s Used Cars in Walthill until his retirement. 

Herman leaves a legacy of farming and dedication to family.  He will be fondly remembered as a man who would do anything to help a person in need, a quality he unknowingly passed onto his grandchildren.  He was always there for his family and his friends, no matter what.

Herman is survived by his wife, Sandy Frese of South Sioux City; children, Jamie (Jeff) Olsufka of Wayne, Cory (Carla) Frese of South Sioux City, and Melinda Kentfield of Lincoln; brother, Donald Frese; sister, Linnea Modlin; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lonna Hawk; sisters, Darlene and Shirley; brothers, Darrell and Dale; and grandsons, Taylor Kentfield and Joseph Olsufka.
