Hildegard C. (Koch) Andersen

Hildegard C. (Koch) Andersen, 94, of South Sioux City passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at her residence. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux City. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Mohr & Becker-Hunt Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

 

Hildegard was born on September 27, 1927 in Fordyce, Nebraska, to Ado and Josephine (Langferman) Koch. She married Harold R. Andersen on January 12, 1948 in Sioux City. He passed away on March 1, 1992.

 

Hildegard retired from Green Acres, now called Regency Square, as a cook after more than 30 years. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, fishing and being with her family. She was one of the best mothers and grandmothers in the world, with a heart of gold and one you could always count on.

 

She always enjoyed cooking a big meal for her family for holidays.

 

Survivors include her children: Harold Jr. and his wife Pam of Dakota City; Sharon of South Sioux City; and Michelle and her husband Doug of Dakota City; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold; her parents; a son, Rodney Andersen; a daughter, Nancy Rickwa; a son-in-law, Louie Rickwa; a grandson, Kris Andersen; two brothers: Cletus Koch and Tony Koch; and four sisters: Hilaria Dickes, Lorraine Derby, and Doris Pagan, all of South Sioux City, and Sylvia Kjenstad of Omaha.

 

She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
