Ida Mae Larson

Ida Mae Larson, 101, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 with a visitation one hour prior to service time at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Ida was born December 2, 1919 in Bridgeport, Illinois, the daughter of Ross Habil and Edna Fogle. She attended school in Illinois and Texas. On September 10, 1938, she married Sherman Gosnell. To this union, four children were born. She later married Edward Larson and the family moved to Sioux City in 1963. In 1964, she began working at Walgreens as a cook until 1974 when she began employment at JC Penney as a cook until her retirement in 1987.

Ida was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed slot machines, watching WWE wrestling, and spending time with her family.

Those left to honor her memory are her grandchildren Richard (Debra) Gosnell; Paul Long, Juanita (Kurt) Orzo, Dale Gosnell, Kristine Gosnell, Casey Gosnell, Melonie (Tony) Allyeger, Jarrade Gosnell, Mary Beth Huffman-Cox, Bill Huffman, Gary Huffman, Michael Harker, David Huffman; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Larson; children Allen Gosnell, Arthur Gosnell, Albert Gosnell, Alice Long; and 6 grandsons.
