Irene M. (Love) Harris

Irene M. (Love) Harris, 91, of Homer, NE died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Pender Hospital.Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery in rural Homer.Irene was born on April 13, 1927 in rural Jackson, NE, the daughter of James and Mabel (DeRoin) Love. She attended the one room schoolhouse in Jackson, then worked as a mother's helper before her marriage. Irene married Malvin (Mac) Harris on September 9, 1950 and was a stay at home mom until 1970 when she started her career at IBP. She retired in 1992.Irene loved her family, country music, gardening, and working wordsearch puzzles.She is survived by her 3 children, Linda Jump, Steven (Cindy) Harris, and Tim (Cindy) Harris all of Homer; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Bettie Cooper of South Sioux City, NE and Dorothy McGinty of Dakota Dunes, SD; and a brother, Ira Love of South Sioux City, NE.Irene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Malvin W. Harris; her parents; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; 1 great-grandson; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
