Iris J. Jump

Iris J. Jump, 85, of Homer, NE went peaceably to be with our Lord Jesus on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at a local nursing home. Services for family and friends will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery in rural Homer, NE. Visitation with the family present will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.Iris was born to Leo and Inez (Oakley) Church on February 27, 1932 in Walthill, NE. She attended school in Macy and lived her later life in Homer, NE. She married Tony Jump August 11, 1950 in South Sioux City, NE. He died January 11, 2007Iris enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, cooking, fishing, baking, sewing, gambling and watching Nebr. Football, and most of all her special love was raising her grandson, Keith.Survivors include 2 sons, Stanley Jump and special friend, Karen Fox of North Sioux City, SD and Larry Jump of Dakota City, NE; 3 daughters, Linda and husband, Donald Hightree of Homer, NE, Debbie Williams of South Sioux City, NE and Gaylynn Jump of South Sioux City, NE; a special grandson, Keith Jump of Dakota City, NE; 2 sisters-in-law, Edna Church of Macy, NE and Shirley Church of Wakefield, NE; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Jump; 2 sons, Gerald and David Jump; grandson, Gage Jump; granddaughter, Kristy Matney; daughter-in-law, Lou Ann Jump; her parents, Leo and Inez Church; 5 brothers, Donnie, Willard, Maynard, Arid (Chub) and Cleo Church; 4 sisters, Glendora McCulloch, Maxine Oakes, Lola Butcher and Irma Church.
