Jacob William Bennett, age 18, of Ponca, Nebraska entered into life on June 4,1998, the son of Chris and Deanna (Hansen)Bennett and went to heaven on Monday June 27, 2016 in Ponca.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday June 30, 2016 at the Ponca High School Gym in Ponca with Father Andrew L. Sohm officiating. Burial will take place following the funeral at Calvary Cemetery at Newcastle, Nebraska. Visitation with the family present will begin on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at 5:00pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponca with a Vigil service held at 7:30pm. Mohr Funeral Home of Ponca is in charge of arrangements.Jacob currently attended Ponca Community Schools as a member of the class of 2017. He participated and enjoyed music, speech, One Act, Taekwondo, football, track, band, and swing choir. He was an active member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he loved his church family, and enjoyed all the church retreats. His love of Jesus followed him everywhere he went.Jake welcomed everyone whether they were family of strangers; he was always smiling with a positive outlook. He was tenderhearted and enjoyed giving hugs to make someone's day. He had a heart of gold, and shared and showed his faith with all of his family and friends. He really enjoyed spoiling his niece and nephew.Jake enjoyed his flying lessons and was looking forward to joining the AirGuard during his senior year of high school. He really enjoyed spending time with his many friends, playing X Box, watching movies, or just hanging out. Jacob loved visiting everyone, young and old, and he really enjoyed seeing people at his place of employment, Cook's Country Store.Jake's life will always be remembered by his family which includes his parents,Deanna and Chris of Ponca; his sister, Heather Rush and her husband Branden; his brothers, Joshua and his wife Samantha, and Isaac and his special friend Grace Olson. He is also survived by his niece, Briah Bennett and nephew Braxton Rush; his grandfather, Kenneth Hansen; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.Jacob was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Hansen; and grandmother, Cleone Bennett; grandfather, Robert Bennett; and an uncle, Doug Bennett.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Jacob's name for a fund to be established at a later date.
