James "Jimmy" Robert Strahl

James Robert "Jimmy" Strahl, 46, formerly of South Sioux City, NE passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 14, 2014 at a Sioux Falls, SD hospital after a lengthy illness, while surrounded by his loving family.Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.Jimmy was born September 10, 1967 to Sally Jean Strahl-Hansen. He grew up in South Sioux City, NE. He was baptized by Rev. Doug Henrichs.Jimmy was proud to do work on Braille books for the blind. He loved to fish and hunt, enjoyed spending time with family, and was a very loving compassionate friend, brother, son and uncle. Jimmy loved hanging out at his grandparent's home with his friends and family.Survivors include his father, John McPherson; step-father, Terry Hansen; daughter, Kourtney; 2 loving grandchildren; sisters, Tanya (Mike) Rich and their kids, Brandi (Chris) Vandeberg and Megan McPherson; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Jean Strahl-Hansen; maternal grandparents, Jim and Glorene Barnett; and uncle, Bob Barnett.
