James E. Osbahr, 89, of South Sioux City passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at his residence.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Dakota City Cemetery with Rev. Tom Rich officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapel.com.
James was born June 3, 1932 in Sioux City, the son of Herman and Irene (Potter) Osbahr. He married Lois Johnson on July 29, 1952 at St. Michaels in South Sioux City. James was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He worked for Central West Ice Company, Culligan Water, Robert’s Dairy, and retired as a gas transport driver for Crystal Oil. James was a past member of the South Sioux City American Legion.
Survivors include his children: Terry (Tom) Barnett of rural South Sioux City, Jim Osbahr of North Sioux City, and Martin Osbahr of South Sioux City; grandchildren: Laurie Barnett Williams, Bret Osbahr, Jodi Osbahr, and Justin Johnson; and six great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his wife on April 11, 2020, his parents, daughter-in-law Leanna Osbahr, brother Myron Osbahr, and his sisters: Virginia Speulda, Carol Schroeder, and Shirley Solvang.
