James L. “Jim” Ream, 59, of Westfield, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at his home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery of Ellendale. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, with a Rosary at 6:45 p.m., and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Jim was born on May 6, 1963, in Sioux City, to Gerald and Vae (Stauffer) Ream. He graduated from Hinton High School in 1981, and went on to attend Western Iowa Tech. Jim lived on his family farm in Westfield for the majority of his life.
He was self-employed in various industries, including lawn care, farming, and snow removal. He owned and operated Supream Lawn in Sioux City for over 40 years.
Jim’s priorities in life were faith, family, farm and friends. He helped build his home on his grandparents’ farm, where he was a third-generation farmer. He loved sports, especially football, and was known for his wonderful sense of humor. He practiced his faith at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sioux City. Above all, Jim was a loving and devoted father. He was most proud of his two children, Ryan and Megan, and considered them to be his greatest accomplishments.
Survivors include his son, Ryan Ream of Westfield; daughter, Megan Ream of Hinton; two brothers: Derek (Deb) Davis of North Sioux City, SD, and Michael (Kathy) Ream of Westfield; sister, Jeanne (Dave) Federman of Mineral Point, WI; uncle and aunt, Larry and Judy Stauffer of Hinton; aunt, Margee Krapfl of Iowa City, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and three brothers: Craig Davis, Dante Davis, and Mark Davis.
