Janet Elaine Clark, 84, of Sioux City, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and devoted community member, made her earthly departure on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at a local hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

In honor of her life, a Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, starting at 10:00 A.M., followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. at Wesley Global Methodist Church, located at 3700 Indian Hills Dr in Sioux City, IA. Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery.

Born on April 29, 1940, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Harvey and Edna (Gorton) Clemensen, Janet filled the lives of those around her with warmth and joy throughout her remarkable journey.

A proud graduate of Central High School, class of 1958, Janet went on to have a fulfilling career as a property manager. For 20 years, she dedicated herself to the Davidson Building, followed by 17 years at the Francis Building, where her organizational skills and thoughtful nature shone through. She not only managed the properties but also created a welcoming environment that reflected her love for her community.

Janet's personality was a blend of organization and kindness. She had a unique way of encouraging others to strive for their best, often inspiring those around her to push through challenges. Her home was always a safe haven, adorned with beautiful flowers and filled with the aroma of her delicious cooking and baking. Janet cherished hosting holidays and family gatherings, creating lasting memories that her loved ones will carry in their hearts.

She had an avid interest in racing, finding joy in watching her son, Craig, race, as well as indulging in sprint car racing and NASCAR events. Those moments of excitement and camaraderie became cherished family traditions that brought everyone together.

Janet was an active member of Wesley Global Methodist Church, where her unwavering faith and commitment to her community spoke volumes about her character. She was a source of strength and support, offering love and guidance to all who knew her.

Janet leaves behind a devoted husband, Walter Clark, whose partnership and love were a testament to their bond. Her sons, Steve (Tamie) Sunt and Craig Sunt, carry forward her legacy of love and strength. Janet was blessed with several grandchildren, including Adam Sunt, Michael Sunt and significant other Sarah, Tiffany (Grant) Russel, and Michael (Shannon) Engel, as well as seven great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Marlene Bye of Neenah, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roger Clemensen, who will be waiting for her in eternal peace.

Janet Elaine Clark’s gentle spirit, enduring love, and legacy of kindness will forever echo in the hearts of her family and friends. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the joy of cherished moments that will live on in those who were fortunate enough to know her.
