Janice F. "Jan" Boe

Janice “Jan” F. Boe, 93 of Lincoln, formerly of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at her son’s home in Hickman, Nebraska.  Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Mohr and Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City with burial to follow at the Oakland Cemetery, in Oakland, Nebraska.  Visitation, with the family present, will be one hour prior to the services Friday morning.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com  In lieu of flowers, family is requesting memorials directed to St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Jan was born May 28, 1926 in Oakland, NE, the daughter of Buel and Lucille (Rasmussen) Ford. She graduated from Oakland High School in 1944. Jan worked for Union Pacific in Omaha and was an accompanist for the Omaha City Chorus.  Jan married Hans H. Boe on Oct. 26, 1947. They moved to South Sioux City in 1957.

Jan was secretary to the superintendent of schools from 1968 to 1980.  She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the PTA, OES #301, and Chamberettes.

Jan loved to play cards, especially bridge, and belonged to several clubs.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas (Debi) Boe of Frankfort, IN, Daniel Boe of New York City, NY, Perry Boe (Gina) of Hickman, NE.  Grandchildren: Jarrod Boe of Lafayette, IN; Hunter Boe (Kelsey) of Lincoln, NE; Hannah Roepke (Seth) of Lincoln, NE; Harrison Boe and Houston Boe of Hickman, NE.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hans, and infant brother Donald.
