June 5, 1951 — December 23, 2021

Janice Marie Lopez, 70, peacefully passed away Thursday, December, 23, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. A funeral mass will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux City. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a vigil at 7:00 P.M. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery. 

Janice was born June 5, 1951 to Elizabeth “Betty” and Frank V. Forman in Wagner, South Dakota. She attended Wagner High School and graduated in 1969. After graduating, she and her family moved to Homer, Nebraska where she began her lifetime career at IBP, and where she met the love of her life, Antonio “Tony” Lopez.  While at IBP she was a production trainer from 1977 until her retirement in March 2014.  She celebrated 45 years of service and had a great gift of remembering people by name she trained throughout the years when she saw them, and was known for never missing work, hardworking and amazing.

Tony and Janice were married May 29, 1970, and resided in South Sioux City, Nebraska with their two sons, Tony Jr. and Mike. They just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.

Janice loved playing golf with her husband, sons, friends, leagues and tournaments; along with spending time with family, playing bingo, cheering on Nebraska Cornhuskers, and her weekly outings with Tony Jr. and Mike. She was most known for her generosity, kindness, being a woman of strong faith and being a GREAT golfer.

She is survived by her husband, Antonio “Tony” Sr.; sons, Tony, Jr. (Margo) and Mike; grandchildren, Nicholas, Mitchell, Marina, Todd, Brooklyn and Makenna; great-grandchildren, Carlos, Evelyn, Ramona, Luz and Sofia; along with siblings, Frank Forman (Margaret), Jim Forman and Patty Lopez (Joe); and several extended family members.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents Betty and Frank V.; brothers, George Forman, John/Jack Forman, and grandchildren, Gabriel and Landon.
