Janice Lee Taylor, 81 of Allen, Nebraska passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, at Pender Community Hospital, comforted by her family. Per her wishes, a family and friends Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
Janice was born on May 15, 1943, to parents, Carl and Maxine Lamprecht in Ponca, Nebraska. Janice graduated from Ponca Public School. She married Jerry Dickens, Sr. on June 4, 1961. Jerry passed away on August 18, 1983. She married Dale Taylor Jr. in 1987. Janice spent most of her adult life living in Allen, Nebraska.
Many remember Janice as the dedicated custodian at Allen Consolidated and Jackson Elementary Schools, or for mowing lawns around town. She took pride in her work, whether it was polishing school hallways, painting the eagle on the Allen gym floor, or mowing lawns meticulously. Janice enjoyed simple pleasures in life such as camping, gardening, caring for flowers, canning, antiquing, puzzles and trips to the Black Hills. Being outdoors brought her great joy. She will be remembered for her pies and brownies at family events, decorating her yard and house at Christmas, and enjoying coffee or tea with loved ones. Janice was proud of her family and cherished the time spent with them.
Janice is survived by her husband, Dale; her children, Lori (Kelvin) Posvar, Jerry Dickens Jr., Shawna (Brian) Ley, Rusty (Carla) Dickens, Holly (Chad) Kallsen, Kristy (Steve) Calhoun. She is also remembered by her sister, Judy Lamprecht; brother, Gary (Jody) Lamprecht; in-laws Vickie (DeWayne) Davenport, Barb Karmann, Peggy Kluver, Mary (Larry) Klemme, Judy (Darwin) Nice; along with her 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and a close sisterly friend, Kay (Barry) Hageman.
Janice was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry; her parents; her in-laws, Dale Sr. and Neva Taylor, Bardwell Dickens and Bonnie Dickens Copple; her brother, Dennis Lamprecht; her stepson, Jason Taylor; brothers-in-law, Gene Dickens, Jack Karmann, and Doug Kluver; sister-in-law, Sharon Shakin; and her beloved dog, Dixie.
