Jean E. Gormally

Jean E. Gormally, 62 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jean was born March 13, 1957 in Sioux City; she was the daughter of Robert and Madeline (Backman) John. Jean attended St. Boniface Grade School and graduated from Heelan High School in 1976.

On July 14, 1984, Jean married Timothy A. Gormally in Sioux City. They lived in Sioux City their entire life.

Jean was a dispensing option for Service Optical and later in life went to work at Northeast Community College as an intake specialist.

Jean’s hobbies included making jewelry, hiking, camping and watching Tim Fish. Jean was best known as the Green Duchess of Riverssance where she loved interacting with her fellow actors and the public. She was also known as puppy mom.

Survivors include her husband Timothy of Sioux City; her sons: Marc Gormally and Michael Gormally (Christina) all of Sioux City; her brothers and sisters: Edward John (Mickie) of Dakota Dunes, SD, Joan Mason (Clarence), Judy Tagstrom (Martin Jones) and David John (Jacqueline) all of Sioux City; 2 grand- daughters: Olivia and Amelia; and several nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents.
