Jean E. Leslie-Kuehn

Jean E. Leslie-Kuehn, age 81, passed away, peacefully at a local Sioux City hospital. A Visitation will be held at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, 1431 W 29th Street, in South Sioux City, NE 68776 on March 20, 2025, Thursday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M. with a Rosary at 6:45 P.M. and the Prayer Service led by Father Michael Keating. The Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City, NE at 1315 First Ave at 10:30 A.M., March 21, 2025, Friday morning with Fr. Matt Niggemeyer as the officiant and Pastor. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

Jean E. Leslie-Kuehn was born on January 20, 1944, in Omaha, Nebraska to James and Josephine (Gross) Leslie. She graduated from Avoca High School in 1962. After graduation, she moved to Omaha. Jean worked with a law office in Omaha, then for Ford Motor Company for 25 years and took an early retirement.

She married Arlan Wesley Kuehn on November 20, 1981, and moved to Sioux City. They then resided in Carroll, IA, Eden Prairie MN and finally in South Sioux City, NE.

Jean took pride in her award-winning flower garden. In her spare time, she enjoyed riding dirt-bikes, and Corvette racing. She was a long-time collector of clocks and bird houses, especially for hummingbirds. You could often find her vacationing at her condo in Arizona where she enjoyed a good game of golf. 

Jean is survived by her husband, Arlan Kuehn; sister, Joann (Jim) Sweeney; stepsons Dan (Emma) Kuehn and Dave (Kellee) Kuehn; grandchildren Zach (Michayla) Swanson, Brittany Heeren, Colt (Andrea) Kuehn, Justin (Stephanie) Kuehn, Jessica (Cody) Kuehn, and Ella Kuehn; great-grandchildren Trezdyn Swanson, Talon Swanson, Marley Swanson, Evan Linscott, Dylan Heeren, Aurora Heeren, Layla Kuehn, Lola Kuehn, Jude Kuehn, Luna Kuehn, Lydia Kuehn, Kaydyn Kuehn, Kylee Kuehn, and Korbyn Kuehn; and sister-in-law Carol (Rich) Ribar.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, sister Judy Willoughby, brother James Leslie, and great grandson Lennon Kuehn.

The Pallbearers will be Evan Linscott, Trezdyn Swanson, Zach Swanson, Justin Kuehn, Colt Kuehn, Kaydyn Kuehn, Talon Swanson and John Linscott.
