Jenette Anderson, 89 of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Ponca, Nebraska passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009, at Bickford Cottage Assisted Living in Sioux City. Per her wishes, her body was cremated.Funeral services will be at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca, Nebraska with PMA Chad Beckius officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will begin at the church at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, December 28, 2009, with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca. Online condolences may be sent at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.Jenette was born July 31, 1920, in rural Hinton, Iowa to Fred and Alma (Sieloff) Speckman. She graduated from Leeds High School in Sioux City. She graduated from Lutheran School of Nursing in 1946 as a registered nurse.On September 29, 1947 she married Lloyd Anderson at Maskell, Nebraska. They lived in the Willis and Martinsburg, Nebraska areas until 1978, when they moved into Ponca. Lloyd passed away March 14, 1997. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca and the Quilters Circle of the church.She is survived by three sons, Jim and Maureen of Ponca, Nebraska, Bob and Cindy of Hubbard, Nebraska and Roger and Kay of Sioux City, Iowa; grandchildren, Dr. Nicole Anderson of Lincoln, Nebraska, Codi & Brad Hrouda of Schuyler, Nebraska, Val Anderson of Lincoln, Nebraska, Brandon and Brittany Anderson of Kissimmee, Florida, Cortni and Barry Krusemark of South Sioux City, Nebraska, Brian and Jenny Anderson of Sioux City, Iowa; Josh, Mallory and Jake Anderson of Ponca, Nebraska; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Abbie and Ellesyn Hrouda, Mia Krusemark, Drake and Gavin Anderson; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Anderson of Wakefield, Nebraska, Warren Anderson of Laurel, Nebraska and Milo and Mary Lou Anderson of Ponca.Jenette was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Alma Speckman; husband, Lloyd; son, Arlen; sisters, Grace and Elizabeth; brother, John Speckman; brother-in-law, Miles Houchins.
