Jennie L. Angove, 99, of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022 at Sioux City Seventh-Day Adventist Church (3636 Aspenwood St.) in Sioux City with Pastor Justin Tonga officiating. Burial will follow at Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
Jennie L., the daughter of William and Anna (Jones) Rusk, was born August 13, 1922 in rural Plymouth County, IA. She grew up on a farm in Plymouth County and attended country school until eighth grade. Jennie graduated from Central High School in 1940.
On May 24, 1943, Jennie was united in marriage to Herbert Angove in South Sioux City, NE. This union was blessed with three daughters. Jennie and Herbert made their home on a farm near Westfield, IA until they moved into Sioux City in 1967. Herbert passed away in 1975 and Jennie continued to make her home in Sioux City.
Jennie was an in-home daycare provider for twenty-five years. Throughout those years, she provided child care for 136 kids.
Jennie was a member of the Sioux City Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by her three daughters: Cheryl Harbeck of Phoenix, AZ, Cherry “Jo” (Paul) Rice of Sioux City, IA, and Cinda Leaser of Hendricks, MN; eight grandchildren: Derrick Harbeck, Jamie (Lily) Simmons, Jason Harbeck, Tammy (Kelly) Mathison, Sara (Jake) Worley, Kari (Tyler) Burnham, Brandon Randolph, and Tanya Elgin; seventeen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert; two brothers: Henry (Roberta) Rusk and Frank (Millie) Rusk; and one son-in-law, Gary Harbeck.
