Jennie L. Donaghu

Jennie L. Donaghu, 91, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022.  Abiding by her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services held at this time.  

Jennie was born the daughter of Dorris and Myrle (McKenzie) Wahl on April 1, 1930 in Battle Creek, Michigan.  She graduated from Central High School.  Jennie married Robert Donaghu on June 19, 1951 in Sioux City.  They enjoyed 69 years together.  Robert passed away in 2020.

Jennie helped operate Donaghu Greenhouses for many years.  She also worked at Fischer Florist, now Step In Thyme, until her retirement. 

She enjoyed reading, knitting, baking, and traveling to their lake home in Minnesota each summer.

She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church.

Jennie is survived by her sons, Robert “Wes” (Marcia) Donaghu of Sioux City and Jeffrey (Terri) Donaghu of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Demaree (Alex), Justin (Elizabeth), Daniel, and David; and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; twin brother, Don; and grandson in infancy, Wesley.
