Jenny R. Acuff

Jenny R. Acuff, 43, of South Sioux City passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.  A memorial visitation will be Monday, November 28, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 3:00 P.M. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City.  

Jenny was born the daughter of Gaylord and Linda Mae (Ewoldt) Acuff on September 26, 1979 in Sioux City, Iowa.  She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1998 and enlisted in the United States Army.  She completed various training and educational courses during her military service including her medical technician certification.  Jenny made a career out of military service and retired after being medically discharged. 

She enjoyed art, painting, and crafting.  She liked going to concerts and any kind of live music, usually country.  Her nieces and nephews were very important to her.  She took great pride in being their aunt.  They had many fun times together.  Getting in trouble and doing shenanigans with them brought her great joy.  Her four “fur babies” were her children and she loved them dearly. 

Jenny volunteered her time with the Wounded Warrior Project.  She was involved in countless art seminars and demonstrations that helped provide healing or an outlet to those in need.

Jenny is survived by her father, Gaylord Acuff; sister, Jody (Allen) Bacon; nieces and nephews, Michaela, Dylan, Donovan, Destiny, and Desirae; and great-niece, Vivian.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda.
