Jerry LaVon Williams, 74, of South Sioux City, NE passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones early Sunday morning, July 31, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital.Per Jerry's wishes, he was cremated and will be laid to rest at his favorite horse riding ranch in Montana at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.Jerry was born on October 2, 1936 in Defiance, Ohio, the son of Edwin and Gladys (Goodson) Williams.He served in the Army from 1952 to 1956, during the Korean Conflict. He married Jane Fleming in Sioux Falls, S.D. on September 19, 2008.Jerry enjoyed hunting, horseback riding, boating and fishing. He lived his life to the fullest.A retired over the road truck driver, Jerry truly enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and will be mostly remembered for his sense of humor.He is survived by his wife, Jane (Fleming) Williams; daughters, Velvet and Monica; son, Brandon; 11 grandchildren; sister, Linda; and many nieces and nephews.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert.
