Jessica Rhea Anne Bauder

Jessica Bauder, 42, of Sloan, IA, passed away unexpectedly November 20, 2021 at a local hospital.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 27 at 11:00 A.M. at Community Church of Christ in Sloan.  Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.  Burial will be at the Sloan Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.  As a tribute to Jessica, please feel free to dress casual in jeans a hoodie.

Jessica was born on November 9, 1979 to Ronald and Deborah (Miller) Bauder.  Jessica began her career at Hy-Vee at age 14 and continued to work there throughout her life.  She was currently a “lifer” working in the Produce Section at Gordon Dr. Hy-Vee.  She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1999.  Jessica was extremely close to her family and cherished get togethers on the weekends, summers in the pool, and outdoor yard games.  She took pride in her flowers, even though she enjoyed shoveling instead of mowing.  She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, when she could bake and enjoy the snow. 

Those left to honor her memory include her parents, Ron and Deb Bauder, South Sioux City, NE; daughter, Rhealeigh Bauder, Sloan, IA; brother, Jason Bauder, South Sioux City, NE; sister, Jennifer (Richard) Benjamin, Sloan, IA; former sister-in-law, Beckey Bauder, Sloan, IA; nieces and nephews: Christian (Jessica) Keck, Sgt. Bluff, IA, Jordan Keck, Alexis Benjamin, Blake Benjamin, all of Sloan, Leo, Piper, Emma and Ian Bauder, all of Sloan, IA; and a great-niece, Abigail Benjamin-Norris.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Ray and Mary Jane Miller and Willy and Helen Bauder; and several uncles.
