Jo Ella M. "Jody" Lindquist, 60 of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at a Sioux City hospital, following a lengthy illness with cancer.Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., with visitation beginning at noon on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City with Pastor Jerry Gilbreath officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, December 3, 2010, with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. She grew up in Dakota City and graduated from South Sioux City High School. On October 11, 1969 she married Eric Beermann at Salem Lutheran Church in Dakota City, NE, and on August 15, 1971 a beautiful daughter, Betsy was born. She was employed by Mid American Energy (IPS) for 30 years. Due to her illness, she had to retire in 2010. In her 30 years at Mid American she made many lifelong friends who meant a great deal to her.She enjoyed bowling, shopping, hanging out with the "bowling girls" and spending time with her two granddaughters, who meant the world to her.Survivors include her parents, Wayne and Delores Porter; one daughter, Betsy (Randy) Kleinberg; two granddaughters, Baili and Morgan Kleinberg; one brother, Sid (Terri) Porter; one niece, Jessica (Daniel) Nelson; one nephew, Reese Porter; and 1 great-nephew, Connor Nelson.She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Monty Porter.Jody wanted to acknowledge and express her special thanks to the seventh floor nurses at Mercy Medical Center.
