Joan K. Butts

Joan K. Butts, 63 of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at a local hospital.  Private family services will be at a later date.  Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Joan was born on July 11, ,1957 in Sioux City to Edwin and Elsie (Hoffman) Wickey.  After completing her high school education, she went on to obtain her teaching degree from Morningside College in Sioux City.  Joan married Cecil Butts, and the two raised their family in Siouxland.  She worked at the Woodbury Community Action Agency for 14 years.

Joan is survived by her son Jimmy Ring and his wife Stacey Yates, son Jack Ring and his wife Ashely, son J.T. Ring, and daughter Jacklyn Lorenzo; several grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cecil in 2011, and brother Jimmy Wickey.
