Joan was born on June 2, 1935 in Sioux City, Iowa to John and Mary (Dziurawiec) Bulzak.  Her grade school education was at St. Francis Catholic School, and she graduated from Heelan High School with the Class of 1953.  Joan married William James “Bill” Jordan at St. Francis Church in Sioux City on July 11, 1954.  The family made Sioux City their home for their entire lives.

Joan was a homemaker for the majority of the time, raising her children, and continued to assist raising her grandchildren by babysitting them all until they were school-age.  She was an awesome cook, and her legendary German Chocolate Cake will be dearly missed. Once fulfilling her calling at home with the children, she worked part-time at Younkers in the women’s clothing department.  Joan was a proud member of St. Francis Church before it’s closing, and then, until now, was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Joan is survived by her husband William J. Jordan, Sr, of Sioux City; sons Mike J. (Sandy) Jordan, and William J. (Susan) Jordan, Jr., all of Sioux City; grandchildren Matthew (Arielle) Jordan and their sons Jordyn and Skyler, all of Sioux City, Iowa, Katie (Tylor) Husske and their daughter Emma, all of Seattle, Washington, Ali (Cody) Ramsey of Bondurant, Iowa, Nicholas (Kaylene) Jordan and their daughter Kayden, all of Ankeny, Iowa, and Amanda Jordan, and her significant other Kyle, of Sioux City; and sister Theresa Verschoor.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, son Mark Jordan, and infant sister Elaine Bulzak.
