Joan Pasewalk, 56, of Hubbard, Nebraska passed away at a Sioux City hospital on Monday, March 28, 2011.Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Father Dan Wittrock officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Hubbard, NE. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a scriptural wake service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 31, 2011. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.Joan was born in Sioux City, IA on May 11, 1954, the daughter of Otto and Mary (Saxon) Heinemann. She grew up in the Hubbard area and graduated from Emerson-Hubbard High School. She then attended and graduated from Stewart's Beauty School in Sioux City, IA. She worked at IBP in Dakota City, NE. She married Maurice (Moe) Johnson at Elk Point, SD. The couple was blessed with two children, Jamie and Brandan. Years later she married Larry Pasewalk. She worked at various jobs before she owned and operated Joanie's Bar and Grill in Hubbard, NE for ten years.She was a proud sponsor of Pheasants Forever.Joan enjoyed cooking, gardening, and attending craft shows and the horse races at Atokad. Her granddaughter, Josephine was her pride and joy.Survivors include her two children, Jamie (Joseph) Doenhoefer of Waterbury, NE, and Brandan Johnson and his girlfriend, Leeann Scheer of Hubbard, NE; one granddaughter, Josephine Doenhoefer of Waterbury, NE; brothers, John (Mardell) Heinemann and Jerry Heinemann, all of Hubbard, NE, and Gene (Jolene) Heinemann of Dakota City, NE; sisters, Mary Heinemann and her husband, Ron Deitloff and Jenny Heinemann, all of South Sioux City, NE; several nieces and nephews.Joan was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and four sisters.
