Joan Marie Wiebke Webb, 74, of LeMars, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa due to complications of COVID-19. Due to the current situation of COVID, a private family service and burial will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church-Vilmar in Greene, IA. A public celebration of her life service will be held at a later date. Online condolences can be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Joan was born July 14, 1946, daughter of Gale Wiebke and Sena Rieman in Waverly, Iowa.  She grew up on a farm near Bristow, Iowa, graduating from Allison Bristow High School in 1964.  She married Steven Keller on October 22, 1966 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church-Vilmar in Greene, IA. They raised their three children in Adel, Iowa where the family were members of Faith Lutheran Church. When her children were growing up she enjoyed attending their school events, volunteering at her church and going camping with family and friends.

In January of 1988 Joan attended Des Moines Area Community College and graduated in August of 1990 with an Associate in Arts Degree (Liberal Arts). From the fall of 1990 to the fall of 1993, she attended college at the University of Northern Iowa, studying Elementary Education and Early Childhood.

On August 18, 1991, Joan married her current husband, Larry Webb, and they resided in Le Mars, IA. She enjoyed attending farm shows with Larry, working in her garden, attending church activities and working as a manager at the local McDonalds, where she truly loved interacting with her customers.

Joan was a loving caring mother and was very fond of her family. She enjoyed getting together with her children and their families throughout the year, especially holiday gatherings. She also attended many of her grandchildren’s activities over the years. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and warm generosity.

Joan is survived by her husband, Larry Webb of Le Mars; her three children, daughters Stephanie (Greg) Wilson of Edmond, Oklahoma and Monica (Brad) Person of Adel, Iowa, son Monte (Nikki) Keller of Adel, Iowa; brother Keith (Cindy) Wiebke of Allison, IA; great aunt Frances Fank of Allison, IA; six grandchildren, Erin, Cailey, Danielle, Megan, Jacob and Riley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gale and Sena Wiebke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joan’s honor may be designated to Faith Lutheran Church of Adel or St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church-Vilmar and sent c/o Meyers Brothers Colonial Chapel, 3220 Stone Park Boulevard, Sioux City, IA 51104.
