Joe Stanton

Joe Stanton, 75 of Pender, NE, passed away June 27, 2021 at the Wakefield Health Care Center.  A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 17th at 2:00 P.M. at the family farm.  Mohr & Becker-Hunt is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Joe was born on May 2, 1946 in Younkers, NY to Francis and Margaret (Landy) Stanton.  He  was united in marriage to Barb McQuistan on April 6, 1970 in Las Vegas.  Joe worked for Schwedhelm Trucking, the State of Nebraska, Roads Department, out of Wayne  for several years and also worked for Michaels Foods.  However, most of you remember Joe for the years when the family owned and operated the Feed Bunk in Wakefield and Emerson.

Joe was never afraid to give his opinion to anyone who would listen.  He so loved spending time with friends and family and watching ball games, whether it was his boys, grandkids, and yes he loved watching the Yankees play ball too.

Joe is survived by his wife Barb; sister, Alyce; sons Doug and Matt; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Margaret; his sisters, Ginger, Maureen, Denise, and Jean; his brothers, Harry and Patrick; mother-in-law, Marilou Reeger; brother-in-laws John Suter and William Price.
