John "Johnnie" Hartnett

John "Johnnie" Hartnett, 83, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at a Sioux City hospital.Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Father Paul Albenisius officiating. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.John was born September 25, 1929 in Sioux City, IA, the son of Thomas Sylvester and Mary (Schoenherr) Hartnett. He worked at the Sioux City Stock Yards and part time at Sorenson Standard.John loved to be outdoors and tell his friends and neighbors stories. He enjoyed his grandkids and great-grandkids.John was an Army Veteran and a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge #112, and the American Legion Post #0307.Survivors include his daughter, Laury (Larry) Mahr of Dakota City; 2 grandchildren, Jaclyn Mahr and Jennifer Anderson; 4 great-grandchildren, Garrett, Gracey Jo, Wyatt and Jaspor.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dick; two sisters, Louella and Gloria; 2 sons, Wayne Scott Hartnett and Steve Chancy Hartnett.
